Cruise on our eBikes or get out on the water and explore the islands and wildlife of Poole Harbour on one of our pedal kayaks or stand up pedalboards.


We have taken measures to make sure that you can safely rent bikes, boards and kayaks from us. Bikes, boards and kayaks will be sanitized by staff before you touch them. All of the bookings can be done online from your own smartphone. Handovers are all done by video so that we can all stay outside, safe and 2m apart. If you have any concerns please call us and we are happy to talk through the measures we are taking to ensure your safety.

eBike Rental

ebike rental activities at Rockley Park

Explore the local area around Rockley Park.  There are so many great places to go within easy reach or Rockley Park especially if you are on an Ebike.  You can explore the wooded trailways of Upton Country Park, travel round the edges of Poole Harbour on one of Poole’s many cycle trailways.  Explore historic Poole Quay , then head back to Rockley Park via the lifting bridge and beautiful Hamworthy Park.

Bring your smart phone and we will provide you with a self-guided tour.  You can easily mount your phone on one of our special handlebar phone mounts  and our sat nav app will give you turn by turn directions so you get to see the very best bits of Poole.

Family Friendly – We use ebikes that can take pillion passengers and childrens bike seats so that the whole family can join in exploring the local area without having to worry about parking. The kids will be pleased to know that on this short tour there are a total of 3 fantastic kids play areas for you to stop at and enjoy.

If you would like to try something a little different choose one of our premium retro ebikes.  Cruise in style on one of these american style beach cruisers and choppers and add a real charm to your ebike experience.

Choose one of our self-guided ebike tours depending on the distance you would like to travel.   Or Sat Nav App will give you turn by turn instructions on how to find the best local sites.  Just rememner to bring your smart phone.

Helmets and bike locks are provided as well as full-instruction on how to use the bikes.

A unique experience to Rockley Park – Pedal driven kayak rental.

Hobie have reinvented kayaking and made it easy and accessible to all.   You will be amazed at how easy it is to power these kayaks using your legs, you will be able to explore the beauty of Poole Harbour without getting tired out.  Not only are Hobie Kayaks fast they are also super stable and really easy to use.

The Pedal Drive on the kayaks can be adjusted to comfortably suit any height of passenger from 10 years old up and the raised mesh adjustable seats are so comfortable that you could sit in them all day

All safety equipment and instruction is provided.

Stand Up Pedalboard Rental

A unique experience to Rockley Park – Stand up Pedalboards!

These boards are far more stable than a paddleboard thanks to the steering handlebars which give you plenty of extra stability.  Powered by a simple stepping motion they are also surprisingly quick.  Enjoy this combination of fun and fitness.

Pre-booking is recommended as we have a limited number of kayaks and boards.

Due to the restrictions of the tidal harbour kayak and pedalboard rentals are not available all day long. Bookings are restricted to the times when the tide is in (Usually mornings one week and afternoons the next).

Sail Kayak Tours

Guided Sail Kayak Tours are a fantastic way to explore Poole Harbour.  You and your family will be on your own Hobie Tandem Island accompanied by a Safety Boat and one of our qualified instructors.  The instructor will guide you in how to use the kayak and the sail and they will also take you on a tour of the harbour.  There are 2 comfortable seats on the boat as well as 2 pedal drives for propulsion, children can sit out on the trampolines.  The Hobie Tandem Island is a great introduction to sailing and it is suitable for everyone, even if you have never sailed before.  Our instructor will help you to learn the basics of using the fully furling sail to propel you through the water.

Our Sail Kayak Trips are two and a half hours long including 20 minutes on land to be shown the basic controls on the boat.

There are a limited number of tours available each week so we recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment.

Guided Kayak Fishing Trips

These tours are suited to those with prior fishing experience whether from the bank or a boat.  These unique guided kayak fishing tours are a great way to take your fishing to the next level.   You will love the freedom of steering your pedal driven kayak to the perfect fishing spot.  Our experienced guide will help guide you to the best fishing sites and advise you on suitable lures to use.

Rods and lures will be provided as well as safety equipment and instruction.

There is only one tour available each week so spaces are very limited, advanced booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Suitable for those with prior fishing experience, aged 14 and up.  We also ask that you have a reasonable level of fitness in order to keep up with the group.

Where to find us

By Car – Travel on the main road through Rockley Park towards the beach. Take the right bend downhill toward the beach. Shore Thing can be found on the left-hand corner 50 metres down the hill. (Opposite Rockley Boat Park)

On Foot – Walk down the footpath to the beach, cross the beach towards the carpark, passing the Harbours Edge Cafe on your right. Walk through the car park towards the boatyard. Shore Thing is about 75 m along the road on the right-hand side, after Rockley Watersports.
