TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CANCELLATION

Bookings cancelled 72 hours or more prior to pick up time requested – 100% refund.
Bookings cancelled less than 72 hours but more than 24 hours prior to pick up time requested – 50% refund.
Bookings cancelled less than 24 hours prior to pick up time requested – no refund.
Rain or bad weather – talk to us before 9.00 am on the day your hire commences and we can discuss the forecast with you and if it is unsuitable, we can reschedule your booking. If it is not possible to reschedule then we will issue a full refund.

 

SECTION 1 – E-BIKE RENTAL (Scroll down for on the water activities.)

 

IDENTIFICATION
Proof of identification must be provided upon collection of your equipment. There can be no exceptions. The ID must take the form of a driver’s license or Passport.


DEPOSIT

A driver’s licence or Passport will be held as a deposit against the return of the ebike and accessories in the condition in which they were hired.

The ID will be held against any loss, theft, damage or failure to return the equipment by the specified time and date. Any late return, replacement or repair costs will be payable by the renter at the time of returning the ebike up to the value of £250 which is the insurance excess.

Late returns: If not returned by the specified time and date, the cost of hire shall be charged at the £25 per half hour, per bike, until it is/they are returned.  If you are running late please contact us as soon as possible to tell us your situation on 07565 670380 or 01202 671661.
Theft/Accident: In the case of theft or accident please report immediately to Shore Thing Ltd and the nearest police station too.
Lost Items: The following is an indication of the possible costs that might be incurred if items are lost by a renter: Helmet £20, Bike Lock £90, Key £25. All items will be signed out and signed back in over the page.
Damage to the ebike: Replacement items to those parts that have been damaged will be costed through the Rad Bike website (https://radpowerbikes.eu) with an additional charge of £50 for shipping and fitting.

 

SAFE CYCLING CONDUCT

By signing the agreement, you are confirming that you accept that cycling has risks and that you and the rest of the group are ALL competent cyclists and that all of the Ebike riders are aged over 14 years.
By signing you confirm that you recognise you will be riding bikes which you may not be familiar with and as such you will exercise additional care and attention. You are also confirming that you have watched the E-bike handover video with instructions on how to safely use the E-bikes that we offer.

You are signing to confirm that you understand the following information:

Safe cycling is dependent on your alertness and good judgement. You are agreeing not to ride if you are in ill-health, have a disability that is likely to affect your ability to cycle, or your eyesight is not up to the standard required by the road driving test. You are agreeing not to ride under the influence of alcohol, strong medication or other drugs.

Please follow the Highway code. Do not ride on pavements, against traffic, or with more than two abreast. Do not run red lights. Be courteous to pedestrians and other road/trail users. When on the Trailways, please ring your bell to warn pedestrians that you are coming and slow down as you pass. Ride responsibly and do not attempt any manoeuvres that are beyond your skill level or the bike’s specific capabilities.

It is strongly advised by Shore Thing ltd that you wear a helmet at all times on the bike and all riders and passengers aged 17 and under MUST wear a helmet as a condition of hire. if you make the decision not to wear a helmet you are acknowledging that you and your group are fully responsible for any accident, injury or death which may occur as a result of taking this decision.


You accept full responsibility if you ignore any of the above, we are not liable for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property that results. Save in respect of liability for personal injury or death resulting from our negligence, Shore Thing ltd.’s liability to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise is limited to the cost of hire. You agree to indemnify us against liabilities, costs, expenses, damages and losses arising out of or in connection with death or injury to any person or any damage to property resulting from your hire or use of the equipment. We advise that you do not ride without personal and third party liability insurance.

 

SECTION 2 – ON THE WATER ACTIVITIES

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT WHEN RENTING
By signing the On the Water Activity Agreement you are acknowledging that you understand that you are responsible for all the equipment relating to the agreement. You are confirming that you are responsible for the payment of any damage (including third party) caused as a consequence of any dangerous conduct, negligence or loss of equipment if the Kayaks/ Boards are left unattended with the Mirage Drive.

We will also charge for the loss or damage of items as outlined below, (this list is not exhaustive).

Lost Mirage Drive: £500
Lost Paddle: £50
Lost buoyancy aid: £50

 

SAFE CONDUCT ON THE WATER

By signing the agreement, you are confirming that you accept that Kayaking/Boarding has risks and that you and your group are capable of swimming 50 metres unaided. You recognise you will be using boards/kayaks which you may not be familiar with and as such you will exercise additional care and attention. You are also confirming that you have watched the Kayak/board handover video with instructions on how to safely use the kayaks/boards that we offer.

When renting kayaks and boards you agree not to leave the area shown in the map below.

When renting a kayak or board you do so on the understanding that you are self-sufficient.  There is no safety cover provided by Shore Thing.  Should you need assistance please use the emergency services as you normally would if the kayak or eclipse were privately owned.

Talk to a member of the team who will help you to plan a route that works well with the tidal patterns.

BUOYANCY AIDS

By signing the On The Water Activity Agreement you are acknowledging the fact that wearing a buoyancy aid is mandatory at all times on and around the water.
